Captain Mike Dakil

Captain Mike has pursued his passion for big game fishing throughout The U.S. Virgin Islands, The Gulf of Mexico, Samoa and now Kona,

Captain Mike Dakil was born and raised in Texas, where he grew up hunting and fishing. With the help of his older brother, Mike traveled throughout the state fishing both inshore and offshore. In his teens, Mike worked as a fishing and hunting guide. After High School, Mike attended Tarleton State University on a baseball scholarship. Still, the call to fish was too great, leaving school for the opportunity to be a fly fishing guide in Mexico. Captain Mike has pursued his passion for big game fishing throughout The U.S. Virgin Islands, The Gulf of Mexico, and Samoa. In 2011 Captain Mike moved to Kona, where he has worked his way up through the competitive ranks of Sportfishing. He has been a deckhand and Captain aboard some of the top boats in Kona.
